Role Description
The Intern will assist the accountant manager in various tasks:
This is a unique opportunity to Join a fast-moving company with ongoing training and development opportunities available. The intern will also apply skills across functions to analyze business practices and policies. Additionally, the intern will gain hands on experience with payment and reporting systems, invoice processing and experience handling the end to end lifecycle. Furthermore, the intern will build essentials skills in the following:
- Communicating with external stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies
- Supporting the team with data analysis, database maintenance and reporting
- Understanding the payment and reimbursement structure and ensure compliance
- Following up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure payments and invoices are not delayed
- A 360-degree understanding of accounts receivable process and accounts payable functions
- Hands on experience with internal costing and pricing processes
- Generating various reports for management team, including maintaining cash position and forecast reports
- Build an understanding of the Finance Month end procedure including but not limited to month ends Journals, bank reconciliation, stock counts and adjustments

The intern will be able to develop key workplace soft skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving and self-management.
Additionally, the intern will develop essential skills in the following areas;
- Market research and data analysis techniques
- Compliance policies and procedures in the specific business domain
- Program evaluation and process mapping
- Use of workplace technology in the retail services field
- Correspondence reporting and management
- Cross functional stakeholder management
- Database and system management with specialized experience working with ERP systems (Orders, Sales, Stocks, Invoices, Payments)
- Hands on experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Has an eye for detail
- Is capable of multitasking and thinking on their feet
- Has familiarity using MS Office Applications, particularly Excel
- Previous experience of MYOB is preferred but not compulsory
Eligibility
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Must have completed a diploma or advanced diploma or AQF 5 or above in your chosen field of study within the last 2 years
- Have an IELTS score of 6.0 Overall (and no band less than 6.0) or PTE overall score of 50+*
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 3 days per week & 12 weeks period. (duration may vary between 10-12 weeks and can be confirmed by the employer)
- You must have an Australian Citizenship/Permanent Residency OR a valid visa that allows you to work in Australia to be considered for this role
*If your bachelor’s or master’s degree has been completed in Australia, your IELTS/PTE score submission is optional.
